The Seattle Architecture Foundation produces a number of public programs each year including talks, workshops and special events that connect the public to the built environment.
Whether your passion is exploring the latest architectural trends in Seattle, or celebrating Seattle’s architectural heritage, we’ve got you covered.
Lectures and Talks
Design Soirée is a series of exclusive design-oriented events intended to cultivate a greater understanding and appreciation of how design enriches our lives. All Design Soirée activities are intended to raise funds for other SAF programming and are curated and presented by generous hosts — architects, engineers, contractors, and artists who volunteer their time and expertise.
All funds raised through Design Soirée support the various programs offered by SAF including: exhibits, tours, talks, and youth programs. SAF reaches more than 6,000 people a year through its events and outreach activities.

SAF’s creative workshops give participants unique hands-on experiences. These intimate programs provide one-on-one access to experts and are created to cultivate the designer in you. Past workshops have explored rain gardens, watercolors, and virtual reality.
Lectures and Talks
SAF partners with local architects, historians, and community groups to provide engaging insight into local design, history, urban planning, and neighborhoods. Past partners include geologist David B. Williams, and architectural historian Lawrence Kreisman, and local architects and SAF volunteers.
Design in Depth Lecture Series
Design in Depth panels and conversations stimulate design dialogue and engage the community. Primarily connected to Center for Architecture and Design exhibits, these programs explore how contemporary design issues impact you and your community.
This program is volunteer driven. If you are interested in volunteering, check out our DID Volunteer Guide.
