The Central Building

The simulated granite on the façade of this Renaissance Revival building is a terra cotta product called “granitex,” which was often used in the early twentieth century to sheath steel-framed structures because it was less expensive than real stone.

Fifth & Madison was the first large-scale condominium building constructed in Seattle's financial district. The tower is clad in high efficiency clear glazing and textured metal panel. Fifth & Madison demonstrates green infrastructure through its terrace green roof which helps filter storm water runoff.
