South Lake Union: Inside & Out

October 15 | 5PM — 7:30pM | TICKETS

Join the Seattle Architecture Foundation, Olson Kundig, and 9th & Thomas to celebrate South Lake Union. From industrial district to vibrant neighborhood, SLU brings together industry, culture, and amenities in a beautiful natural setting along Lake Union’s south shore.

The evening will begin with a tour of 9th & Thomas led by Brian Walters, Associate Principal at Olson Kundig. Originally the site of Sellen Construction’s headquarters in 1944, 9th & Thomas was developed by Sellen’s owners, the Redman family, to serve as a community hub that would continually respond to SLU’s rapid growth and transformation. The mixed-use project includes office and retail space, a public lobby, and an artist-in-residence program that celebrates SLU’s creative flair.

After exploring this interior space, step out into the surrounding neighborhood with SAF’s expert guides to experience some of the stops featured on our South Lake Union and Modern Beauty & the Pedestrian Experience tours, exploring the neighborhood from historic, developmental, and design perspectives. Then, return to 9th & Thomas to enjoy a light reception and mingling.
