Sound Transit: Art, Design & Community Engagement | Design Soirée
September 15, 2022, 5:00PM - 7:00PM
Learn more about Sound Transit’s art program (STart) and its process for creating welcoming and engaging stations that connect people to architecture and art. The designs reflect the community where people live, work, and play. The STart program features sustainable architecture, designs, and collaborations with local artists where they learn about and respond to the local character of each diverse neighborhood. The artworks are specifically commissioned for each station and facility.
Meet and mingle with Sound Transit Architect Yuki Seda-Kane and Public Art Project Manager Ashley Long as they present the design process behind building three stations on the Federal Way Link Extension (currently under construction). Yuki and Ashley will talk with guests about the extensive research and community outreach that informed the development and design of the station’s art and architecture. Light food and beverages will be provided.
Presenters:
- Ashley Long, Project Manager, Sound Transit Art Program
- Yuki Seda-Kane, Principal Architect at Sound Transit
This event is part of SAF’s 2022 Design Soirée Series. SAF is a 501 c3 nonprofit and all proceeds directly support our architecture & design programs for youth and families.
