Family Workshop | Bridges

October 4 | 10AM – 12PM | TICKETS

We need bridges to get from one place to another over water, roads, railroad tracks, and more. How do we make them strong and long-lasting so they can be used by walkers, bikers, drivers, and rollers? Will your bridge be low and heavy or will it reach for the sky with tall towers? Come join us and construct your dream bridge!

Please Note: This is the first of SAF’s Family Workshops that will be held at the YMCA of Greater Seattle as part of our new programming partnership. This workshop takes place at the West Seattle & Fauntleroy YMCA and registration is handled through the YMCA system.

Designed with younger children in mind (ages 5-12 with chaperone), our family workshops encourage children and their caregivers to explore architecture through hands-on activities. Workshops begin with an exploration of exciting examples of architecture and activities that highlight the design process. Then, the kids are off–designing and building their own structures in a whirlwind two-hour workshop that culminates in a group presentation.

Pricing

A $5 discount if available for children of SAF members. Email info@seattlearchitecture.org to receive a discount code that you can use when registering through the YMCA’s system.

If the cost of admission is a barrier for any reason, please contact the YMCA about scholarship assistance here.
