2001, Callison Architecture
1700 Seventh Avenue
This 24-story, steel frame building features 22 floors of office space over a two-story retail space and lobby. The building is made of low and high-rise portions. The high-rise portion on the north end of the site achieves a strong sense of verticality with its setbacks and uninterrupted piers. The main corner entrance of the southern, low-rise portion of the building is marked by an engaged round tower, which terminates at a roof terrace. 1700 Seventh Avenue was the first building in Seattle to feature structural design for a 2500-year seismic event.
